I’ve run out funny titles- it’s FlogYoBlog Friday!!

by Lori Dwyer on October 1, 2010 · 17 comments

G’day,

It’s Friday! FlogYoBlog Friday in fact. As the title of the posts suggests, I’m all out witty funny punny things to say involving flogging, cat’o’nine tails, whips and chains. If you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments, yeah?

I am-gasp!- working this weekend at the Baby and Toddler Show. Both the Saturday and Sunday, by the looks. If you’re going to be there, drop me an email and I’ll let you know the secret location (not…really?) that I’ll be at. I would luuuurve to meet you guys. Creepy stalker types need not apply. Believe me, you will only be disappointed.

And thank you all berry, berry much for your unbridled support yesterday. You guys are the topsest. I love it when you all come out of the woodwork and give me warm fuzzy comment love and (most of you) refrain from telling me how terrible I am.

So…. do I feel a little bit of pressure now, having put it out there, in case I f*ck up and keep and fagging and disappoint you all and you decide you hate me and no one reads my blog anymore because I am still a dirty smoker?

Why, yes. Yes I do.

Whatever. Shush now, Lori and her insecurities, and give us the linky.

The Rules.
  1. Follow my blog, the Random Ramblings of a SAHM. I never seem to get to reading all the links here. But believe me, I try. Not that any of this is my idea anyway- FYBF is MummyTime’s brainbaby, I’m just minding it for a bit.
  2. Grab B’s bubbly button and post it on your sidebar.
  3. Link your First Name and/or Blog Name and URL of your linked post (not your homepage) below.
  4. Add a short description (max of 125 chars). It could be a description of yourself, your blog or a teaser to your latest post. But be warned, Mr McLinky List doesn’t seem to groove on apostrophes, quotation marks, or other forms of punctuation. Use them at your own risk.
  5. Follow at least 1 linkyer/blogger (Be nice and spread the love).
  6. The list will be open for linkyers on Fridays (and for the foreigners Friday as well).
  7. A new and fresh link list will open  every Friday. And you will have to link up AGAIN. The previous link list  does not carry over to the following week.
  8. And lastly, have lotsa fun. I mean it. If I detect anyone not totally loving the awesomeness, I will bump you off the linky list. (Joking) (Kinda).

You go, girl. Been reading from a distance and holding your heart close, thinking of you and your children often. Take care.

I quit smoking 7 years ago…it sucked. I equate it to breaking up with a serious boyfriend All you do is obsess over him for days, weeks, months…and then one day you wake up and realize you haven't thought about him (or the cigarettes) for days.

That is the best feeling. You will obsess. I did. You will mess up, I did. But, stay strong – it is possible to break the addiction!!

Good on you! Put it out there. Show the world. We don't mind if you stumble, at least you're honest and that gets my vote any day!

Putting it out there in cyberspace can only be a good thing. Good luck! You can do it. If my Mum can give up after 40+ years of smoking…so can you!

Right behind ya, hon. xxx

really wishing you lots of luck on the quitting thing….I gave up in July 07….and it took forever for me to stop thinking about them but last week I was around a smoker and I could not stand the smell! Nice change from the urge to rip the fag from the smokers mouth and disappear into a hazy cloud of smoke….As trite as it sounds, only time will help to beat the cravings! keep at it!

I missed your post yesterday but read it today… I gave up the cigs after 15 years of a pack a day of Marly Lights or Peter Styvo reds (hard core, that's me). My love, it was tough. Being pregnant made me not smoke at all but I thought about it every. single. day. Then, after Max was born I thought "I don't want to be a smoking mum" and that one statement was so strong in my mind that was sort of that! I still have one every now and then after a few drinks but I don't get out that much so it's not really a problem.

You've got to find your long-term reason that means more than the short-term cravings. For me it was not smoking around my children (and my children are always around!). It took a good six months to not want a cigarette anymore. That's a long time to 'stay strong' but you get there if you solidify that one important reason in your mind and make it your mantra.

Whatever happens, Lori, just never give up giving up. That's the main thing. x

I am trying to enter, but the linky tool keeps telling me my link is not valid (www.maidinaustralia.com) What am I doing wrong? Love your blog, BTW, and good on you for giving up smoking!

PFFFT anyone who's tried to give up knows how bloody hard it is, so don't ever think we would judge you if you slipped. You just quit again the next day, is all!
