I live about 10 minutes away from Melbourne airport – if I had any flares (damn me not being a soccer fan!) I would set one off so you would know you were driving in the right direction! Have fun at Blogopolis – wish I was going so I could say hi (with about 300 others!)
Cheers, Skye
You would have probably passed by my place on your way to the airport.
Welcome anyway.
Ditto to driving on the wet tram tracks. Hook turns used to freak me out until I figured them out properly – you're just getting in front of the traffic going across the intersection (left to right), so that when the lights go red you get to go first, hopefully before THEIR traffic lights go green, LOL.
Now I don't even know if that makes sense. Anyway, they are only in the CBD. You can always keep going left.
Narre to the airport should be an hour drive. Not so bad really. I'm 20 mins sideways from there, in the Dandenong Ranges. Will be pottering about Brunswick St with my adelaide friend tomorrow before the blogopolis drinks thingy! I love pottering about in Melbourne, I hope you enjoy it! Fun!
You know, the other day, when you showed us the crocs, I really thought they might be the worst thing.ever.
But I was mistaken. The where's Wally pants. Oh Lori.
Only you could (barely, but not quite) get away with that!
Enjoy Melbourne.
Sounds like you had a super fun shopping day! Cool! I love your pretty phone cover!
I have two teenage daughters, you talk slow!
always puts a smile on your face to hear someone from out of town talk of melbourne. good to see you had a great time shopping, you must have been out all day to get to all those places.
oh and i've been following your blog for a LONG time and never commented before… it takes you doing a shopping trip in Melbourne for me to comment
hehe
hahaha did you realise you didn't actually slow down after saying that?! LOL nice try tho
Keep enjoying yourself and buying more goodies!!
Hope you find some other groovy little store that you don't usually find elsewhere besides Melbs.
You seem real happy atm, great to see Lori!!
You know, I'm from Georgia, the one in the southern United States where we talk real slow and say y'all a lot. I don't have any trouble understanding you, and I swear I'm about as far from Australian as you can get.
I love the green HEADBAND best! It's flattering on you!
I used to have a black note book with a silver pen. It was my dream diary. Glad you're having a good time. I understand your accent, I'm a Brit living in America.
P.S.: I used to a set of black stationery and different colored bright pens, but the silver one was my favorite. I LOVED writing letters, but everyone complained that the ink was too difficult to see on the black paper, so I quit writing and instead emailing. Now people say, "I miss your letters…" Sorry, you shouldn't have complained… *LOL*
I LOVE your videos, and I don't have a hard time understanding you, and your Dr. Suess pants are kind of awesome.
Glad to see a beautiful smile on your face Lori, hope the rest of the trip is as much fun and brings you much joy!
Teacher says, every time a pair of Crocs are bought an angel dies.
I love it. The hook turns aren't that bad. But skidding on the tram tracks when it's raining: now that's terrifying!
Have a wonderful time in my home town. Love those Dr Suess/Where's Wally pants. Rock!
Whoa, leave yourself plenty of time for that trip, as Narre Warren is about as far from the airport as you can get! Yikes! And you wont need to do a hook turn on your way, so don't worry
I've lived in Melbourne all my life and my inlaws who live in rural Victoria are still terrified of hook turns and driving with trams (or the big scary green things as they call them!) but you really only need to do hook turns in the CBD and where we live, we don't go near too many trams! Basic rule of thumb, if they stop, you stop! (So you don't run over the people getting off!)
And enjoy our shops. You'll love getting lost in our laneways when you get in to the CBD.
xo
Live it up, Mama
Enjoy every minute! You deserve it
Hook turns freak me out too – I've lived in Melbourne my whole life and have never done one.
Sounds like a fun day shopping!
bummer i must have just missed you at chaddy:-P I was there today hun! oh well see you Friday & saturday
Glad you had fun shopping!
Hey Lori! I live in Narre Warren. Lol!
Those pants are awesome.
Sorry but the crocs aren't. I don't care how warm they are uggies look way better and they're warm too.
I love black paper. I have a junk journal with black paper and a a white pen as well as a funky pen to write in it. So awesome.
hey you! enjoy yourself and be sure to spoil yourself rotten!!
and what's wrong with those non aussies who can't understand you?
Ha ha ha! You look and sound great, Lori. This vlog actually kinda sorta reminds me of the time me and my two best girlfriends took a shopping trip south of the border to Buffalo… it was a blast! Also? I'm Canadian (i.e. not Aussie) and I have never, not once, had a problem understanding you in your vlogs. Anyways, have a great time, live it up, treat yourself. You deserve it. HUG!! PS: Have no freaking clue what a hook turn is, but do be careful on the road.
Crocs make baby Jesus cry
